Shipment of Slaves to Imperium

A caravan from Tryscar with two shipping trucks and two armored patrol vehicles leaves the country to deliver approximately one hundred slaves to the Imperium. It follows along the road from Tryscar to the Imperium, passing near the new and unidentified borders of Aturm Veneficus to reach the Imperium.

It was the dead of night as the trucks passed through the area, They would be going through a pass border on one side by the mountain range, the other by a forest. Usually the sound of animals would pierce the darkness, even crickets. But not tonight, dead silence covered them. Like the entire night stood still waiting for something. Little did these slavers know they had wondered into the clutches of the lords of night, and the night walkers did not take kindly to slavers. As they went on the silence might make them uneasy, as a loud shrill wind began passing through the tress.

The vehicle at the front of the caravan, one of the armored patrols, checked the scanner for any nearby activity. Its headlights were bright on the empty road in front of it, and it occasionally checked the area with a spotlight for any disturbances. The vehicles kept rolling at a steady speed.

One of the guards watches out the window cautiously. He leans over and comments to the driver. "Seems a bit different than the last time we were here, don't you think?"

"Yeah...it's creepy." The driver double-checked the coordinates to make sure they were headed in the right direction.

They would see a shadow glide across the road incredibly quickly, its couldn't be something human, but it looked like it. They saw red and dark purple eyes blink in and out of existence in the shadow around the caravan as an inhuman screech was heard from the forest.

The patrol vehicle tapped its brakes and slowed as it alerted the vehicles behind it of a possible threat. Voices went back and forth over the radio system.

"Report, we've spotted...an animal?"

"Didn't look like an animal."

"What was that noise?"

"Just keep driving. It's nothing."

The driver checked the infrared scanner again. It would show any significant activity or movement in the area.

The sensors would pick up nothing, the night walkers were hiding thier presence with spells strong enough to fool lux lucis technology. They heard another shrill cry and this time it was to hide someone saying "Umbra flamma cannon!" a dark blast of energy would rip apart the road in front of their truck to shreds and maybe the front of the first truck would be heavily damaged. A dark demonic voice that would strike fear into the heart of any man roared out from the darkness all around their trucks "Do you fear the night?"

The first vehicle is hit directly by the blast and sustains major damage. The other vehicles, including the cargo trucks, screech to a harsh, sudden halt right behind it. The first truck slams into the back of the smaller patrol vehicle, the other truck veers off to the right side of the road and into the grass, and the last patrol vehicle stops a few feet away from the others.

"What the hell!"

Two guards stagger out of the first vehicle, and another four jump out from the last vehicle. They are all armed, and they check the area for what could have caused the crash. The other guards stay inside the truck, keeping the slaves from escaping.

Darkness would continue swirling around the area in the shadows and the voice would boom out again "DO YOU FEAR THE NIGHT!?" it demanded an answer

The guards would already be sending out a request for backup, even though they were many miles away from anyone that might be able to help them. One of them took a few steps up the road, searching for what was lurking in the darkness. He held up a handgun in one hand, with a bright flashlight in the other.

"Who's there?!"

There an eerie silence and then all they heard was a shrill cry again and the loud voice yelled the words "'I AM SHADOW" and then another blast of black energy came out and would hit that guard head on full blast as another ripped through the other guard truck. Two quick shadow flew across and with blade of shadow cut at two of the guards before disappearing.

The first guard was defenseless against the blast and shit himself relentlessly as he was thrown back and killed instantly. The other patrol vehicle was hit and took some damage, but was still running. One of the guards was hit by the blades of shadow, while the other one ducked back behind cover. They started shooting towards the shadows. Most of them carried automatic handguns, and two of them had SMG's. They were well-armed and well-trained, although obviously not prepared for an attack like this.

The men there were well trained and had gone up against Lux Lucis, Kyanites, and many other threats in thier time with Atrum Veneficus before the Exodus to spero, while on spero, and now. They knew how to hide and move away from gun fire as they did perfectly, none were hit by the bullets but same came incredibly close. The fired two more Umbra cannon spells at the guards trying to take them out quickly.

The security personnel were ill-prepared to fight against the Atrumites. One other guard was taken down quickly, and another was wounded. The others started to move back towards the vehicles after one of them issued an order to fall back. The first vehicle was completely totaled, so they abandoned it and the remaining guards loaded into the other patrol vehicle and jumped onto the side of the cargo truck as they started to pull away. The vehicles began veering off into the grass, trying to pull a U-turn and drive off quickly.

Once the patrol car stated to move five voices rang out from the darkness yelling the same words. "Umbra Flamma Cannon!" Five blasts of dark energy rammed into the first guard vehicle while a 6th person used a small black beam of energy to try and pick off the guards on the cargo vehicle. These men were making sure that no guards survived this. If any kyanite was in those slave transports, they would know this was magis fighting style.

The guards were picked off easily as they had little resistance or training against the force of the Atrumite magis. The first vehicle was now completely destroyed and immobilized, and some of the guards on the cargo vehicle were picked off. The hatch opened for a split second and one more guard emerged, wearing darker armor than most, and he began opening fire with much greater velocity and accuracy than any other guard. He moved at nearly superhuman speeds, dodging back and forth to cover the cargo vehicle as it gained speed and kept moving down the road with the last remaining guard hanging onto the side.

It was difficult for the magis to dodge these bullets as he shot more and faster, but they managed to do so barely. Each but one fired at him with the specialized smaller more precise blasts of energy, one targeted the driver, and had a spell set up to stop the vehicle in its tracks if i kept advancing. The atrumites had won.

The last guard realized that his gun was impractical against the magis, and he saw them begin to target the driver. He positioned himself in front of the driver's door as the driver ducked and tried to keep the van on the road. The guard blocked the magis' line of sight to the driver and raised his left arm. A small metal plate seemed to grow from his arm, as if it was implanted inside his body or his armor and designed to open and assemble itself as a shield that deflected some of the incoming blasts. With his other arm, the guard raised it and began firing rapid, precise bursts of automatic fire from a small, subtle, wrist-mounted device.

They would hear grunt as one magis was hit in the arm, Azero landed on top of the vehicle and swung down, kicking the soldier out of the way, landing on top of him. He tried to send and electrical burst of black lightning from his body at his enemy. The other magis shot either at the driver again, or the soldier. The truck hit the spell and a burst of elctrical energy would go into the engine, either turning it off, or forcing the brakes to come on giving the atrumites a better chance of kill shots.

Once Azero got close enough, he may notice a "Securion Inc." logo on the man's armor, and a "ServaCorps" logo on the side of the cargo truck. The guard grappled with Azero as he swung into him, and as he tumbled off the side of the truck and slammed down hard onto the road he brought his assailant down with him. A short, straight knife blade protruded from the guard's forearm and he thrust it upwards towards Azero as they fell.

The driver of the truck was forced to slow down, and he slammed on the brakes as he realized the engine was failing. A few blasts cracked through the windshield and struck him in the chest and shoulders, incapacitating him as the truck veered halfway off the side of the road and slammed its front tire into a steep ditch before the spell or the brakes could take affect. The driver's face was thrown forward and he was nearly killed while the slaves in the back were thrown and slammed against the walls of the crammed metal enclosure, which remained locked and sealed.

Azero would blink out of the way and land behind him and grab the larger soldier and sent out more blasts of black lightning at him as the others emerged from the forest. Most of them shot at the other soldier again, while one dragged the near dead driver out, while another went and began cutting the back of the truck off with his black fire.

The soldier was overpowered quickly, although not before he could thrust and slash towards Azero's upper chest as he was taken down. Once he was grabbed from behind, he slammed his left arm backwards, trying to bash the shield into his face as he struggled to fight him off.

The driver was unconscious as he was dragged out. The armor of the truck was strong enough to resist the black fire for a few seconds, but ultimately it couldn't stand up to the strength of the fire that would be able to singe through it, layer-by-layer. The screaming and shouting of the slaves inside who had no idea what was happening could barely be heard from inside the thick metal cargo container.

Azero would have a shallow cut across his chest and he would continue to hold him and shoot blasts of lightning at him as the others moved forward, one from a distance in front of him shot a small blast of energy at the soldiers head, hopefully killing him. They would finish cutting a large enough peice off the truck for slaves to come out and the magis would rush them out "COME ON! LETS MOVE HURRY! you want freedom? hurry the fuck up!" Cero was the one rushing them along.

Sera held the driver in black chains and waited for him to awake.

The Securion guard was finally beaten down by Azero and killed by the headshot, although he put up a fair fight. The back hatch of the truck burst open, and some of the slaves bolted for freedom and tried to escape while others huddled in the truck, screaming and terrified for their lives.

Slaves of many different ethnicities were inside - of the ten people crammed into the back, there were at least a few slaves who looked like they could have been Kyanites, Navokhians, and of other origins ((anyone who wants to throw in some slaves from your countries, let me know and I'll add them here)).

Some of the slaves who escaped from the truck started running in fear. A young Kyanite man leapt out of the truck, prepared to run for his life, until he caught a brief glimpse of their "attackers" and recognized them as Atrumites.

"Holy shit! You - are you from Atrum?! Did you come to break us out?"

Cero nodded at the man and smiled "Yes, Cero at your service, one of the last of the elite night walkers. All six remaining elite squads have one objective until further notice. Attack slave caravans, release all slaves. Any kyanites bring back to Novus Atrum to be brought to Arrakhesh and New Kyanon upon next communication. How many Kyanites are in this caravan? and do you know of any other places we can attack that will allow us to free more slaves without hitting one of the actual cities?"

All of the Tryscarians were now dead aside from the driver, who was seriously injured and nearly unconscious.
