The Last Stand

The injuries to Naraku were unnoticeable by the majority however, they this did not take away from the severity of the wounds. He moved forward, closer to the shores and drew his sword in preparation for the battle just a short ways out. The soldiers rose and continued standing their ground as the Grey Knight approached the shoreline, the combat would begin shortly.

The bomber spun quickly and avoided many of the shots but took a few of them, it was damaged but not enough to bring it down, it quickly looped around for another run and it launched another volley at them hoping to take out as many of the defending forces as possible.


The grey knight rushed the enemy forces and as soon as they were close enough opened fire before cutting into them with their grey spears. They were merciless and without remorse, they went through wasting no time as they tried to cut through the enemy lines.

Rika called out to her troops to follow as she ran forward ahead of the rest, putting herself and others in danger.

"Rika! Follow orders Rika, pull back!" Kazuya scolded from afar but this did no good. "Naraku!"

"Understood," he said quickly then followed after her. Drawing a gunblade from his side as he dodged the majority of plasma bullets, he forced his way to the front lines within only a few steps of the Grey Knights. As rika approached he cut her off, exposing his back to the enemy. He may be hit one or more times while doing this.

"Return to your place, you are hindering this mission," he said as he turned, drew up his blade and shot at the Knights several times.

The Kyanites clashed hard against the front line of the Lux. The ones that closed into melee range used any weapons they had - their guns, knives, sharp scrap metal from the battlefield, and even their bare hands. Their assault was brutal, even against the Grey Knights. The most fearsome Kyanite to face are the ones who believed that this battle might be their last.

Selah continued calling the shots from behind, but the fight was moving closer and closer. She aimed her assault rifle, picking off a few Grey Knights that got within range while she gave orders. The sounds of gunfire were heavy over her comm transmissions.

"Contact made, engage and hold!"

The artillery fired off again, aiming to take the bombers and enemy aircraft down as soon as possible. The bombers might cause a few casualties on their own side as well because most of the soldiers had already moved in close to their enemies.

The warp would stabilize itself and he would sigh and use his power to say over the battle field to all arian, vaiton, drui, and kyanite soldiers that the warp was open. He drew his sword but kept his ground, ready to defend the warp against any enemies capable of bringing it down.

The Drui soldiers slowly pulled back to the warp still fighting as they made their way, one they got there they took up thier positions around kyo to defend the warp as enemy forces began closing in.

More and more grey knights were pouring in on the beach from more and more drop boats that the now weakened or destroyed artillery couldnt hit. The scatter bombers kept circling over head, aiming for areas with the least amount of Lux Lucis soldiers.

Kayt and Ephilas along the remainder of the Vaiton Survivors stayed with the Druids as they pulled back to the warp.

Kazuya motioned to the ship that had pulled away and helped the civilians into the warp. Rika along with the rest of the Arian troops made their way to the warp and began to help the injured, sick, and weak survivors into the warp while Naraku remained behind. As the Grey Knights poured onto the beach he pushed forward to get within striking distance and began hacking them apart. His speed was incredible, being able to dodge the majority but not all of the bullets from both sides while facing a great number of Grey knight face to face. He slashed several of them in the chest, spun around at full force and decapitated one leaving himself open, then stabbed himself through the shoulder to stab one in the abdomen. Several bullets struck him in the arms, legs, and chest as he fought but he continued to hold back the Grey Knight's Advance alone while his men aided in the escape.

Some of the Kyanites held their position while other advanced back to the warp, helping their injured or fallen allies to get into it. Selah held some troops at the front to be sure that everyone had a chance to escape.

"Everyone, to the warp! MOVE IT!" She saw the brave Arian fighting on the front lines, and tried to hold out long enough to give him a chance to get back. She ordered a squad of CQC units in to assist him, and Naraku would see ten heavily armored Kyanite troops moving in, blasting at the Grey Knights and other Lux Lucis troops around Naraku to try and give him a chance to get out.

"Orders from the General! Advance to the warp!"

Naraku shunned the soldiers away.

"Go, escape yourselves! I will follow," he said quickly without disrupting his combat with the Grey Knights.

The grey knights would continue fighting until receiving order to back off, which they did not get. But it was won, the survivors were going to get out. Or at least most of them, Kyo saw something coming in that he had never seen before except for in book, a S.A.I.N.T.S drop ship. He used his magik to boom his voice over the battle field "MOVE IT! GET TO THE WARP NOW!" he moved forward as the grey knights pulled back, letting the saints move in and he engaged the team pushing all other survivor combatants away with a light shock wave.

Selah redirected the orders. "You heard him. Move out!" She glanced disdainfully back at Naraku, in time to see him expertly decapitate a Grey Knight coming at him from behind. "The Arian can handle himself!" She saw Kyo approaching as her forces fell back, and screamed at him with the force and ferocity that only an angry Kyanite woman could muster. "Kyo, I swear, if you get fucked up, I will NOT haul you off that battlefield in pieces! You'd better know what the hell you're doing, and get your ass through this goddamn warp!!"

He used his power to make the warp larger from this far away "MOVE IT DAMNIT! ILL MEET YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE! GO!" The saints all seemed to be as skilled as him, Kyo was defending, not attacking any of them because he didnt get a chance.

Naraku was pushed back but did not lose footing nor did he retreat but rather he moved toward the S.A.I.N.T. Ship in order to try and head off whatever it would bring upon them. Kyo would undoubtedly notice this but there was little he could do to stop him, using his magik would only delay the inevitable, Naraku had his orders and he refused to abandon them. Kazuya had assigned him rear guard, he was to remain behind until all others made their escape and only then was he to retreat to the warp. He would not disobey this command, not even if it meant his life.

After they had held out for as long as they could, Selah and her troops finally advanced through the warp. There was little more that they could do here, besides hope that the last remaining fighters on the other side wouldn't be heroic and fool-hardy enough to sacrifice themselves if they could get the chance to retreat.

He looked at Naraku "I have to be the last! i can only hold it open from this side, go through when they all get through i will hold! You cant afford to die!" he said as he fought the Saints hoping naraku would listen and go.

"Go Kyo, you are needed more than I," he said briefly, cutting Kyo off from battle and taking the Saints upon himself. He would not be able to hold the off soon, this was Kyo's only chance to retreat to the warp without injury. "I will follow, do not concern yourself with my life."

Kyo nodded and grabbed his shoulder, He teleported him and Naraku to the warp after everyone else was through, and smiled at him "Go." he pushed him through the warp and on the other side it would look like it closed. Selah would see Kyo wasn't through yet.

The sudden jolt from the teleport and the landing when shoved through the warp caused him to stammer slightly and cough up blood. His wounds were much more severe than his actions let on, with inturnal injuries from the bombs that were hemorrhaging and many bullet and plasma shot wounds along with the stab wound to his shoulder bleeding out. Kazuya released him as he tried to force himself up and use his powers to find a means of keeping the warp open.

"Naraku, that is enough. If you keep using your power you will cause your wounds to spread."

Grudgingly he stepped back and collapsed to the ground as if he had chosen to allow his pain to affect him.

By the time the others made it through the warp, the Kyanites had already secured a perimeter in the landing area and sent out communication signals. Luckily, some of the comm units that Selah's units were still equipped with were now able to reach the signals of the Honor Guard in Kyanon. They weren't able to send any messages through because of the weakened communication lines, but Kyanite Honor Guard technicians saw a trace of a signal from the coastline. Arrakhesh was immediately alerted, and wasted no time - he mobilized an Honor Guard squadron to investigate. Within minutes of receiving the signal, three Kyanite helicopters took off at high speed from the Ky'Kabrion Honor Guard outpost towards the coordinates of the signal.

Selah attempted to organize the survivors on the other side of the warp. She kept her active troops on guard, while the wounded were moved away from the warp to a safe location where the combat medics would be able to perform emergency procedures to save many more lives. The General waited anxiously for Kyo to come through the warp, and already decided she would never forgive him or herself if he didn't make it.

It took a while for kyo to come, and selah may have begun to lose hope. But as her back turned on the portal she heard foot steps and the portal close again. She heard familiar heavy breathing and a voice say "Oh comon, you didnt think i would find you alive and then go and die did you? Im not that crazy. Not yet."
