Blood of the Night

A Tryscarian spec-ops Securion team mobilizes itself to investigate an abandoned research laboratory in an undisclosed location, far from the locations known by most of Elysium's people. One of Tryscar's discreet allies hired the team to do a field study of a laboratory in the ruins of a destroyed foreign military research lab that once belonged to an advanced nation, which was now wiped from existence. There was almost no other information given - besides strange research subjects that the investigators took special interest in.

Two stealth choppers landed outside the site, carrying a group consisting of about a dozen security units, a few military liaisions, five assistant researchers, and five scientists. They set up a camp outside the lab and prepared to enter to collect their research data, and clear the facility of hostiles if necessary.

The labs were nearby but not visiable to the eye of their intruders. They had remained hidden since the wars that destroyed the nation prior within a large estate that was now covered is grass, roots, and brush and starting to crumble to the ground. It looked to be a mansion of a rich man however as the soldiers made their way down into the basement they came to a broken door. It had once been a hidden entrance, having blended with the walls of the mansion, now it stood half open. Beside one might notice the com-system with a small key pad with strange lettering and numbers. The gap between the sliding door was only a few inches but it allowed them to see into the dark tunnel system that led to the labs they had been searching for.

One of the security personnel found it, and called the others over to investigate. They shined bright lights down into the tunnel, or at least what they could see of it, and the researchers took some extensive photographs and recordings of the area. They investigated the keypad to try and make sense of the strange symbols, and took some individual photographs of it as well. They looked for any hint, or some way to understand how to open the door safely.

The symbols were of a foreign language that they would not understand, the numbers were common symbols along with points, comma, and colons. The screen was gray and inactive and as if it were broken, surrounding it was metal frame that was cracked. There was a one inch gap between the frame where it had been struck by something heavy and some wiring shown through it, perhaps they could hardwire it open.

Inside the doors was a long shadowy hallway surrounded by white walls with grooves in them. They might notice strange markings on the walls as a light at the far end flickered on and off. They also might see what looked to be elevator doors to one side of the hall and caught between them was what looked to be some cloth. The doors were open enough that a slinder man could force his way through them without injury however, a large man could get caught or trigger a defence mecanism that would slam the doors shut. Perhaps a smaller person could open them from the inside or rather a larger one could shove them out of the way.

The Tryscarians examined their options and tried to hardwire the console. One of them that had more skills in working with electronics and coding tried to wire the cords and possibly hack into it to try and get the door open without damaging it.

One of the smaller Tryscarians checked the doorframe. He would be able to slip through it, so he cautiously tried to reach through and see if there was some kind of locking mechanism. He searched for anything that would give more clues or allow him to open the door.

The mecanism would not start up and the screen stayed gray, without another access they you have to rely on the man who had managed to get through the small opening to find an entrance. There would be an identical box on the other side that was undamaged, if he were to press the bottons he could cause it to slam shut. They might remember the card scanner on the side and look for a access card on the ground, perhap the cloths in the elevator doors?

The hacker told the others that he couldn't get it open, and the man trying to fit through the door stepped through. They decided to search for the card that might give them access. They shined their flashlights across the dark floor, searching in corners, crevices, and the man on the other side looked through the cloth for some kind of card...

There was no cards on the side where they had came from. As the man on the other side walked down the long hall to the flickering lights where the elevators doors were he would grow increasingly more uneasy. When he went to move the cloth caught between the doors to see if there was a card he was successful. There was a card perched in an odd position, with more investigation as he took it the cloth moved and uncovered an arm. Once he saw this he may look around in shock and seeing through the doors the bodies of several people in lab coats and the one the arm belonged to was a young girl. Some of them had wounds from where they had fought in the room and other looked to have died of hunger. On the outside of the elevator was another console and this one was smashed like the previous he had seen. It looked as if these people were trying to escape something.

"Shit...guys, we've got a situation in here. There are fuckin' corpses everywhere."

He called the others over to show them, and they looked through the door to see.

"Well, someone had a bad day."

He reluctantly tried to grab the access card to bring it back over to the door, so they could hopefully manage to get it open. The less time they spent in here, the better.
