As the Moon Bleeds

A group of Blood Guards led by the Neroel family made their way to a Tryscarian outpost outside USSR's border that housed numerous slaves, equipment, and supplies. They took their positions around the entrances of the base in the shadows of night with full moon. Rakxia gave signal to her troops to move forward,closing in now she looked to her kin, watching for their signal to attack. Leon moved his troops from behind, cutting off their escape route should they try to run, he raised his hand and reflected the light from the moon off his silver gauntlet.

"Leon is in position, it is time Lyra," Rakxia whispered to her cousin across the lines, she had already infiltrated the base and remained hidden, watching for Rakxia's signal. Rakxia raised her hand as well, reflecting the light from her red armor to let Lyra know everyone was in position then lowered it quickly so that no one else may see.

"Affirmative," she thought silently as she pressed her back against the wall. She checked around her for troops before stepping forward and raising her hand. As she did this a glyph appeared beneath her feet and the wind began to surround her, her position would not likely stay hidden after casting a large spell, she sang the words of Eclipse quietly until the moon heeded her and turned a bloody red. If the Tryscarians and possibly USSR soldiers had not noticed her presence they would surely notice the strange eclipse of the moon that lit the night's sky. Eclipse is one of the highest ward spells of Cruor, increasing the magik power of their magik as well as giving a defensive ward to all with Cruorian blood. This would surely be the beginning of the wars between Tryscar and Cruor.

The heavily guarded outpost didn't notice the Cruor operatives until it was too late. Some of the guards noticed the wind changed, and all of them were quickly alerted when the moon suddenly changed colors. They were alarmed mostly because of the recent magic-based attacks on outposts, and even though they normally wouldn't pay it much heed, they went on high alert because they feared foul play at hand.

The base's commander issued a lockdown command, and all the entrances and exits of the outpost were shut and secured. More guards were brought out and they began running perimeter checks and searches for anything out of the ordinary.

There were little signs of hostile forces outside the walls of the outpost. They maintained hidden from view in the darkness until there was a entrance into the base.

Lyra had finished casting Eclipse then made her way to cover just beyond sight, she leaned around the corner and checked how many she would have to face before reaching the front entrance. When the time was right and few stood between her and the gate she slowly slipped behind the nearest guard and slit his throat, his fall would give her away to the nearby guards but it was too late. She killed three more guards and had made it to the gate, she stabbed the console with her sword then kicked the gate which caused it to dent in. She ran her hand across a blade positioned on the handle of her sword and allowed her blood to flow into the grooves of her blade then stabbed the door. The door began to crack and expand open and they may notice the red crystal spires that formed from her sword that held it open.

As soon as the guards went down and Lyra made it to the door, the vitals equipment on the guards alerted other nearby guards that they had taken severe damage. When Lyra busted the door, they noticed from the inside and about ten guards rushed to converge on the position. They saw an unidentified individual inside and immediately began to open fire on full-auto with their assault rifles. An alarm went off loudly across the outpost.

"Alert! Alert! Security breach, Sector B!"

The troops from the front lines rushed the guards on the outside, surrounding and killing them with ease and forced their way through the narrow entrance Lyra had created. The majority of them were using heavy shields that repelled light impact bullets, some were taken down in the doorway while others used their blood as shields to force their way in.

Lyra knelt and pushed her hand into the ground to launch herself into the air, almost as if teleporting, in her place was a crystallized spire of blood that had been the force that propelled her. She flipped over in air and slashed down at the guards then completed the back flip to land on her feet behind them. She quickly turned and sprinted toward them without hesitation and thrust her blade into one's throat.

More guards rushed forth from the other areas of the outpost, and the barracks. Twenty more more swarmed in, opening fire on the Cruorians and trying to cover their allies. One of them tossed a grenade towards the interior of the doorway where most of the fighters from Cruor were to try and clear out the area.

"Fire in the hole!"

The soldiers ran for cover when the grenade was thrown, one rushed toward it and covered it as it exploded to shield his comrades from the blast. They continued pouring through the gate with Rakxia at the head calling orders.

"B company take left center!, A take right! S find the housing stores and D will cover you!" she made her way through the gate and began to swing his broadsword to deflect bullets. "Where is Leon?! Was he not in position!?!"

Leon and his troops had different plans, while the Tryscarians were distracted he made his way in through a drainage duct along with a small force and sent several soldiers into the vent systems. He heard troops above him firing, he cut his hand then placed it on grate below them and impaled one with a blood spire, this loosened the grate so that he and his forces could emerge from within their ranks.

Lyra continued her assault from behind, slashing out at several troops with intent of hitting their ribs. She was struck by some bullets as one fired as he fell to the ground dying. She stabbed another through the knee so that he fell down then snapped his neck from behind.

Some of the guards caught onto the grate opening, and they pulled back to focus their fire on the forces trying to advance on them. One of them was impaled directly through the face; the others tried to keep the pressure on the small opening so they could keep from getting flanked from within. Many of the guards fell quickly from the sudden assault.

A squad of heavy assault Securion troopers approached and opened fire with much more powerful weaponry and armor. They saw that their ally's position was almost compromised, and positioned themselves behind them to try and take out the closest hostiles and reinforce the position in case the assailants were able to break through.
