At Cruor's Gates

Post  Cruor Luna on Fri Oct 21, 2011 11:46 pm

At the center of Cruor Sanguis a large black mountain towers over the foreigners below. At the base of the mountain was a narrow path that spiraled up the mountain until it disappeared behind a large wall of rock. The black stone that made the path was cracked and a blood red glow that seemingly flowed beneath the rock shone through. Trees or any sign of life was scarce in these parts, it seemed darkened by war and death. What few trees that grew were twisted and blackened and yet still living and able to produce fruit. All grasses seemed to be black or a dark shade of blue. The unnatural colors would undoubtedly be noticed by the outsiders.

At the end of the path they would reach a blackened stone wall with a large gate with intricate designs etched into stone. From there they would be able to see the black clouds that spun around the top of the castle spires. These lands seemed very different from those nearby which had lush green landscapes or hot dessert sands. They would likely run into other participants at he gates that were closed for the time being.

Karos Neos and Arkenfel walked to the great mountain and smiled at it thinking of thier home. Karos would walk up the large stairs leading the first person and nodding as he went looking at the trees "This is...creepily like home..."

Reia, Kouta, and Ren would make there way up the trail to the gate. The darkened clouds hid the ground from the light and it seemed as if these lands were in eternal twilight. This cause much unrest in the people of Arian who had only seen a place like this from afar in Spero. Reia was accompanied by what remained of the Imperial Guard. Kouta, whom was very unsettled by the atmosphere, kept his hand on the hilt of his blade. His precautions would not go wasted.

"This place...I sense a large amount of evil here," he said under his breath.

"I sense it too, but its not the inhabitants of these lands...I know that they are a peace-loving people," Reia said quietly.

Karos would look down the stair case and see Reia and the people from Arian and he would smile guessing she probably wasnt used to a place like this. He was....maybe he should walk with her. He smiled to himself "Yea...yea ill go do that." he told neos and Arkenfel to keep going as he walked back down part way. He would lean up against a wall and when they began to pass him he stood and began walking next to Reia "Hey, nice to see you again" he would chuckle

Reia smiled at Karos, she had missed seeing him. She walked a step behind Ren who had no trust for magik users.

"Hi, I'm glad to see you again. I came to observe the events, strange for me huh?" She laughed a bit, something she hadn't done in awhile. "So, you're warriors entered the arena as well? I hope they don't have t face each other...I know that Ren and Kouta won't back down."

Kouta would tense suddenly and slow his pace to let Reia catch up. He had noticed a red cloth attached to the rock wall above, the others may have noticed it as they passed by. He had seen this before and he knew who was here.

He would nod and laugh with her "Yea a bit. To be honest i didnt know if you would send anyone. This will be an interesting set of games" He would sigh and chuckle "Yea, Arkenfel and Neos. Neos might not like it but he has a bit of a winning complex, he'll do what it takes. Arkenfel....wont give a damn and i think is just here to get a chance to beat something within and inch of its life." He chuckled a bit more and smiled at her and Karos had seen it, but he did nothing more than remember it slightly. he didnt know anything about the red ribbon thing. He also wasnt wearing anything on him right now that would give away he was participating in the fights, so she should just assume he is observing.

A shadow appeared a short way in front of the group and he stood, motionless, as the groups of warriors and officials walked around him. His long black hair blew in the wind, he was dressed in Arian robes and on his back was a large nodachi blade. His eyes, like Naoya, were blue which was a strange color for an Arian. He had his eyes set upon one person and when she was near enough he broke stance. He drew the nodachi and lunged forward at a speed few could match. His blade aimed for the Empress's neck.

Kouta drew his Kodachi and swiftly blocked the blade, struggling to hold it back with one arm.

"Karos, get her out of here!" the sword slid as he said this. He pulled back slightly and with all his strength he push the man back. The man quickly regained his footing and lunged forward at Kouta who had yet to adapt his fighting style to his latest injuries.

Karos eyes grew wide and before he could say anything or help fight he listened to Kouta. He wrapped his arm around her pulled her close as to make the blink less jarring, he blinked a good ways up the staircase and looked at her with worry in his eyes "Im sorry! i..i couldnt think of what else to do..are you alright? Blinking can hurt people who arent magis.."

She seemed a bit dizzy and dazed from the blinking but nothing serious was caused by his magik. She momentarily recovered then responded with worry in her voice.

"I'm alright just a bit dizzy. Who was that, I hope nothing happens to Kouta," she pretended to be fine but in reality her muscles were tense and sore.

Kouta, now with Reia out of the picture, sheathed his kodachi which he had drawn for reasons of defense and drew his katana. He dosged the man's blade and aimed for a slash at his chest. Kouta who always seemed calm under the circumstances now seemed enraged.

"I had hoped you died in Spero, Souji," he hated this man for more than one reason.

Souji blocked his slashes with a gauntlet on his wrist. The narrow pathway was not large enough to merit either of their fighting styles and they were forced to shorten their swings, limiting the power they could infuse with them. Time after time their blades clashed and Shiranai struggled to push him back, he had trained to back the blade with his other hand. Souji pulled a small blade from his sleeve and stabbed Kouta in the chest then in the shoulder. His movements were unbelievably fast, it was almost inhuman. Souji pushed him back and slashed his chest. Kouta fell to one knee and sheathed his sword, seemlingly giving up the fight. He lunged forward without drawing his sword, allowing Souji to land a hit then slashed out toward his chest again, leaving himself open from behind. Souji saw his inept lack of guard at his back and past him then trust his blade into his back. After this, Kouta turned his blade back and ran it through his shoulder and into the back of Souji's ribcage. Kouta nearly missed his heart. they simultaneously withdrew their swords from one another and Kouta fell to his knees, having been more seriously injured.

Re: At Cruor's Gates

Post  Cruor Luna on Sat Oct 22, 2011 3:26 pm

The black gates groaned as the swung open, revealing hundreds of guards lined up on both sides of the large Blackstone streets. Two figure had come to greet their honored guest but found that a battle had broken out between them. This was not unexpected due to the circumstances of their presence but a shock that it had occurred before the trials had begun. There was no ruling on fights before the trials had started so no measures could be taken other than to break it up and heal the wounded.

A man wearing black leather uniform with golden trim, he walked up to the men and separated them.

"You dare disgrace my nation's honor by displaying such lack of self control?" the who had come to meet them was Noctis Orphan, Warrior General of Cruor. He looked down at Kouta who was seriously injured. "Call for Eleria, I cannot allow this man to die for protecting another."

Karos looked at the man and bowed his head "Im sure they meant no disrespect. Old grudges from an old land i beleive. Dont hold this against them..." He would say after a couple of seconds "Ok hold it against the one with both arms.

Amun and Jamila reached where everyone else was. They never saw a place like this before. It kind of frightened them, but they were prepared for anything. They couldn't feel evil like others could here, they were only mere humans.

"This... is gonna be interesting..." Jamila said.

Amun nodded. "Yeah... but I think it'll be ok... there's some people talking over there... at least we get to know some people."

They would approach the group.

Three horses and their riders appeared on the horizon. One horse was completely white, while the other two were very light cream, Palomino-colored horses. One rider was garbed in flowing, white robes with embroidered and designed edging, while the other two riding at the side wore simple and modest hooded white robes. They had very few possessions with them, and they proceeded slowly as the calm horses stepped gracefully across the rocky paths. A small banner carried by one of the riders with shimmering gold, crisp white, and serene sky blue displaying the symbol of the Dominion of Incarna swayed in the wind softly as they approached.

Kouta thrust his sword into the ground and push himself to his feet. His robes were cut open and one could see deep wounds on his chest. The red stain spread across his kimono as he bled profusely. He did his best to bow to Noctis but his wounds made this difficult.

"I mean no disgrace to your nation, he drew his blade on my Empress, I merely did my duty to protect My Lady."

Souji stood silent, ignoring the the man who was reprimanding them.

The two Battle units that were signed up for the trials would be riding their hover-cycles and would stop near the stairs. They would calmly flip of the hover bikes and walked up the stair case ignoring everyone else and giving a disdainful glare over at the Incarna people. They moved on giving everyone in the area looks as if they were studying and rating thier fighting capabilities. They said to one another as the past:

Unit 037: Competition appears to be....inferior.

Unit 116: Agreed, victory has a very high probability.

Their personality hasnt been set yet of course.

Re: At Cruor's Gates

Post  Cruor Luna on Sun Oct 23, 2011 8:49 pm

A woman exited the gates and approached Kouta who was standing in front of the Warrior General. Her well-kept shoulder length hair was a pale blonde and nearly white, she wore a short red and white split skirt over tight-fitting shorts and tall red stockings, a matching low-cut top with gold embroidery. She wore silver and gold armor plates over that, her clothes did not suit a white alchemist but rather an archer's armor. She was well known for her skill with a bow on the field of battle and studies of the white arts.

She approached Kouta and placed her hand above the deep wound on his back. A bright light emanated from her hand as the wound slowly closed, healing completely without leaving any scarring. She looked to him and spoke in a soft yet strong voice.

"Come, I will heal the other, less serious wounds when we reach Ecclesia, our sanctuary. I will ease the pain you suffer." She turned and beckoned him to follow her.

Noctis calmly went back inside the gates and disappeared out of sight. He would speak with the emperor himself on how to penalize the offensive party in the matter. Another woman who had come with Noctis stayed behind. Her silvery white hair was parted off to one side and only a small part of her hair fell before her shoulders, the rest of her knee length hair fell behind her back. She wore a high collared black jacket with gold trimming, underneath that she wore a black vest over a white shirt with a frill at the neck. over her right eye was a bandage-eye patch. She bowed to the guest and greeted them properly.

"My humble apologies for these outbursts, we hadn't expected such hostile feelings between the constituents. Welcome to Cruor Luna, our nation's capital."

Kouta would follow her into the city behind the castle walls and disappear out of sight. He did not know where she was leading him and kept his guard up, placing his hand of the hilt of his swords again. He was considerably less disturbed by following her than he had been when coming to the gates. The wounds on his back were completely healed but he still bled from the slash wounds on his chest. His wounds might frighten the children in the streets who had noticed the foreigner pass by.

Reia bowed slightly to the woman saying,

"Thank you but apologies are not needed of you. It was our people the caused it, I should be the one apologizing to you and I am truly sorry that we have caused such a commotion before the events, please accept my apologies for both mens behavior." She lowed her head then bowed again.

Neos and Arkenfel sat near the gets and talked to each other watching Karos carefully.

Neos: I wonder when he is gonna make a move

Arkenfel: We think he is too chicken shit to do anything, we mean...what has he every done to lead us to believe otherwise?

Neos: Going to Arian to fight?

Arkenfel would shrug:This is true, we cant argue that.....well if he does....we think it will be interesting

Karos of course was standing next to Reia and hated seeing her with her head bowed. He didnt bow his head he just nodded "Im also sorry, with my powers i should have sensed something about to happen and i could have stopped it."

Jamila and Amun saw their host appear and bowed respectfully. They watched as she helped to heal the wounded and led them in. Jamila and Amun followed with a shrug thinking that this was what they were supposed to do.

Jamila whispered, "what have we gotten ourselves into?"

"I.... have no idea...." Amun replied with a chuckle.

Once the small group of riders reached the narrow point of the path off of the mountain, they dismounted their horses and led them up carefully on foot. They stopped amongst each other after witnessing what had happened and conferred quietly before moving on. They were almost silent as the approached, with a young woman who had a fair complexion and easy grace leading the other two who were still hooded.

They approached the edge of the group and then waited quietly to be acknowledged or accepted into the Gates of Cruor. They seemed very solemn and composed, yet they offered warm smiles to anyone that might look up towards them.

Re: At Cruor's Gates

Post  Tryscar on Sun Oct 23, 2011 10:27 pm

The cavalcade of Tryscar appears cruising down the road at a leisurely pace. The entire group consisted of a large, futuristic-looking hummer limo and two military patrol vehicles. They pull up and park neatly as close as they can into the gates. A few guards begin to file out - some of them in standard Tryscar infantry armor, and others in Securion security suits - along with some civilian spectators including Tylen Burne, the son of Dorren Burne of ServaCorps, and finally the competitors and their personal trainers. There were eight security personnel and ten civilians, including Tryscar's four competitors.

Only three members of their group seemed different or out of place. One of the competitors was very dark-skinned, much taller and heavier than average, and his extremely muscular body was marked with Kyanite scars. He hung his head slightly, much more than any Kyanite would ever think to do, but he may look slightly familiar to the other Atrumites or Kyanites. His hands were clasped behind his back, as if there was something clasping his wrists together from behind, but no one would be able to tell for certain. Another man carried some attributes of the tribes of Shilain, and both men were watched especially closely by the security personnel. There was also a woman who appeared to be of a different ethnicity accompanying Tylen Burne, although it was unclear where she may have been from.

They filed out and made their way up to the gates. Most of them were dressed neatly in slick suits or formal attire. One of the nation's representative foreign ambassadors, a middle-aged, professional-looking man named Landon Karrsonn, approached the others.

"Good morning. We're here for the Trials."
